Fashion, journalism, great style and a damn good cause are on tap for this weekend’s 826 Valencia Adult Writing Seminar Fashion Writing a la Mode. Featuring Bay Area panelists from some of fashion’s hottest online properties, this event offers the chance to learn from the minds behind Joyus, Refinery29, ModCloth and – yes – Digital Style Digest.
Writing in the fashion realm will be in the spotlight on Sunday evening at the venerable San Francisco non-profit organization, best known for its dedication to pirate paraphernalia, oh, and helping kids ages six through 18 improve their writing – and their futures (the two are so often intertwined, no?).
While the organization revolves around programs for the youth set, this evening event is aimed at adults who’d like to hone their fashion writing skills. It’s a chance to listen to a diverse group that includes Gina Pell of Joyus and Splendora, Refinery29 San Francisco editor Katie Hintz-Zambrano, ModCloth‘s Laura Vrcek and Lorraine Sanders, a San Francisco Chronicle Style Bytes columnist and founder of Digital Style Digest and SF Indie Fashion.
