Poshmark party guests play with the app over wine at Press Club.
An intimate group of avid Poshmark users gathered over wine and tasty bites at San Francisco’s Press Club recently to toast the social shopping platform’s recent addition of showrooms, curated live during the mobile app’s virtual “posh parties” and populated with users’ latest and greatest finds.
With smart phones in hand, many were spotted oohing and ahhing over the most recent stylish additions to the app, which offers users a way to buy and sell apparel and accessories right from their phones. Poshmark has won fans for not only making it easy and convenient to post for-sale items using Instagram-like photo filters, but also the tightly knit community that has formed through social features that allow users to like and comment on each others’ listings. More than a few people at the event recognized other guests wearing items sold on the app and commented on each others’ recent postings.
Poshmark Co-Founder Manish Chandra walked guests through the app’s new curation features with the help of fashion blogger Ahn Sundstrom of 9 to 5 Chic. As he was explaining the idea of showrooms, Ahn was simultaneously choosing the pieces on virtual display for her showroom she was hosting for the virtual Posh Party. When Chandra asked if guests had any questions, Ahn was asked when her necklace would be posted. Too bad the killer statement piece was a newly acquired gift from her husband. Not to worry! Hundreds of items are added daily. We’re sure another good necklace will pop up, and curated in a showroom, very soon.
