  • SES Founder Jennifer Margolin kicks things off at Madrone Studios against a digital backdrop powered by Bumebox.
  • Bumebox's very polished-looking conference platform debuted here and impressed by tying in great background visuals with social media.
  • Livingly Media's Julie Anne Herrin greets guests early on in the day.
  • EcoMom's Jody Sherman (left) and Sean Carasso of Falling Whistles chat backstage before the Social Cause panel.
  • Jennifer Margolin and San Francisco PR diva Lindsay Stevens (and we mean diva in the best way possible).
  • Bloomberg West's Cory Johnson (left) and Kent Zambrana of Invodo listen while Pur Lisse's Jennifer Yen speaks during the Video, Transmedia & Branded Content panel.
  • Mulu.me's Amaryllis Fox, Consumer Bell Founder Ellie Cachette, Lorraine Sanders of Digital Style Digest (ahem, yours truly), Falling Whistles' Sean Carasso and Jody Sherman of Ecomom woke the crowd up after lunch with the Social Cause panel.
  • UrbanTag's Andrew Hoag (left) announced his company's acquisition by social discovery network Tagged during the Mobile Strategy panel that also featured Joe McCann of Bazaarvoice, AvecMode's Joah Spearman, Poshmark's Tracy Sun and Anthony Krumeich of Bloodhound.
  • The Women Entrepreneurs panel was packed with smart chicks and good advice (get a mentor, diversity is about more than gender, etc.): (from left) Venture Gained Legal's Laura Slezinger, 72Lux.com Founder Heather Marie, Journalist and Media Strategist Caroline Waxler, Huffington Post SF Co-Founding Editor Carly Schwartz and CloudFlare Co-Founder Michelle Zatlyn.
  • Speakers Future Bars' Doug Dalton and Pur Lisse's Jennifer Yen

  • A rare quiet mid-conference moment for Founder Jennifer M.
  • The day was hardly all business, thanks to photo fun from Poshmark.
  • Laura Slezinger, who's also the managing director of Girls in Tech, chats post-panel with CloudFlare's Michelle Zatlyn
  • Jennifer and Sarah Little

The Social Edge Summit held earlier this month drew a diverse line-up of entrepreneurs and social media experts to San Francisco’s Madrone Studios for a day-long pow-wow that also saw the debut of a new conference platform from Bumebox (a really intriguing company responsible for some pretty innovative digital stuff during New York Fashion Week), the announcement of Urban Tag’s acquisition by Tagged (handy name synergy there, eh?), panels packed with a mix of folks from startups and long-established companies such as Dell and Zappos and just the right amount of girlie photo booth entertainment courtesy of Poshmark.

I had the opp to moderate the Social Cause panel, which ended up being one of the liveliest (that I saw – I unfortunately missed part of the morning panels thanks to impending deadlines). But some f-bombs were dropped and generally speaking, the panelists didn’t really need a moderator, which made my job all the easier. People who can successfully back social causes and build businesses around them are generally an extremely charismatic bunch, and that was certainly the case here.
