Meet Monogram: An iPad Magazine-Catalog-Pinteresty-Image-Fest in One

Posted on November 1, 2012 by Lorraine Sanders in Apps, Digital Style News, iOS, Mobile, Shopping, Startups 1 Comment

Launching today for iPad is Monogram, a shopable app aiming to be the next big content-meets-commerce hybrid you’ll want to curl up with from your tablet. Founded by a team with roots in Amazon, Newegg and fashion, the company is the latest venture for Packagetrackr.com’s Leo and Josh Chen, as well as Kristen Slowe, whom you may recall as the designer behind innovative high-tech suit label Sabøteur.

Along with scrollable fashion finds curated by such stylish ladies as Natalie of Like Fresh Laundry, the app lets members quickly swap from browsing mode to buying. Images link to in-app product pages and flash sales from go-to sites such as Gilt, ShopBop and Net-A-Porter, and there’s editorial content peppered throughout.

The app’s only in its early stages, so you’ll have to keep perusing to see how it evolves, but for now, it’s looking very much like a style-forward alternative to your average catalog app experience with Pinterest-like image-scrolling and blogger eye-candy built in.
