Current shopping app intrigue: Lasso, a San Francisco-based fashion startup proposes to help you find exactly what you’re looking for in local boutiques with the help of people who are, like, real living thinking breathing humans that might actually know a thing or two about style.
It’s only available in San Francisco at the moment, and I’ve included a few screenshots below of my quick session this a.m. You type in what you’re looking for like I did (a pair of combat-style boots with some flair), and the app sends your request to local boutiques and shoe stores such as Capulet, Acrimony and Fiat Lux. If a boutique’s employees spot your request and can suggest an item in their store, they will. With any luck, you’ll get matched with exactly what you’re looking for without having to pound the pavement. And there’s also the bonus of being able to shop local with more ease (the upside for shops themselves is obvious, especially if you can get a critical mass of users that will justify store employees’ time responding to requests).
I’ll post the results of my search here when I get them, but in the meantime, here you go:
More digital style….
